LEEDS — Lucille Lucienne (Couture) Lauzier, “Lou” to friends and family, died peacefully at her daughter’s home on Feb. 2, after a 15-year struggle with Alzheimer’s.

Lou was born Nov. 15, 1931, in Auburn, where she lived until her marriage to Roland F. Lauzier. They moved to the Washington, D.C. area, where they raised their daughter, Jeanne. She later retired to St. Petersburg, Fla., where she happily stayed with her beloved cat, Major, until she could no longer live independently.

She made her home for the last 13 years with her daughter, Jeanne and son-in-law, Ronald, first in Connecticut, and more recently in Leeds.

She is survived by her only child, Jeanne Ruth (Lauzier) Clark and son-in-law, Ron; as well as her two sisters and their husbands, Ruth and Marcel Dumont and Pauline and Normand Begin; she also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as their children and grandchildren.

Lou was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Marianne Couture; her husband, Roland F. Lauzier; and her brother, Bertrand Couture.

In keeping with her long-stated wishes, cremation will be immediate, and there will be no calling hours.
