1937 – 2013
LEWISTON — Doris M. Turcotte, 75, of 64 Boston Avenue, Lewiston, died at her home on Wednesday, Feb. 6.
Born in Beauceville, P.Q., Canada, on Oct. 13, 1937, she was the daughter of Napoleon and Rose-Aime Roy Poulin. She came to Lewiston at an early age and was educated in local schools.
In 1954, she married Aurelus Turcotte who passed away in 2008. She was a dedicated mother, homemaker and caregiver, caring for her two sons with muscular dystrophy for 18 years. She always put the needs of her sons, daughter, and husband before her own.
She also worked for many years in the laundry of St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. Doris loved animals, and adopted rescue cats and dogs from the animal shelter.
A member of Saints Peter & Paul Basilica, Prince of Peace Parish, she is survived by a daughter, Jocelyn Turcotte of Lewiston; and a brother, Adrien Poulin and wife, Sylvianne, of Beauceville, P.Q., Canada.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Carolus and Renee; and a brother, Raymond Poulin.
