1943 – 2013
LEWISTON — Pauline Y. Charest, 69, of Morse Ave., died peacefully at her daughter’s home with her family by her side on Feb. 11, after a long battle with cancer .
She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 15, 1943, the daughter of Lucien and Yvette (Sarasin) Gagnon. she attended schools in Lewiston.
On Sept. 12, 1965, she married Laurier A. Charest.
A homemaker all of her life, Pauline loved to cook, go fishing, play cards and spend time at camp in Harpswell.
She was a member of Holy Family Church.
She is survived by her husband, Laurier of Lewiston; her daughter, Debra Charest of Lewiston; her son, Donald and wife, Melanie, of Lewiston; her siblings, Rita Corriveau and husband, Adrien, of Lewiston; Phillip Gagnon and wife, Cathy, of Lousiana; Lorraine Blanchette and husband, Marcel, of Lewiston; Robert Gagnon of Las Vegas, Nev., Bertrand Gagnon of Lewiston, and Diane Atwood and husband, Chuck, of Auburn; step-grandson Chad Helms and wife, Crissy; step-great-grandchildren, Lexi and Chloe Helms; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Pandy and the Beacon Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for Pauline.
