LEWISTON — A funeral Mass honoring the life of Maurice F. Drouin Sr. was celebrated on Monday, Feb. 11, at the Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul, following prayers at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. The Rev. Aaron Damboise celebrated the Mass. At the beginning of the Mass, the burial pall was placed on his casket, which commemorated his Baptism into new life, by his wife, Doris Drouin, and his children, Lori Turgeon, Maureen Jordan, Maurice Drouin Jr., Lisa Labbe, Julie and Paula Drouin. The First Reading was read by his sister -in-law, Sharon Morin. The Prayer of the Faithful was read by his niece, Donna Thibodeau. The Offertory was brought to the Altar by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger and Sharon Morin. At the end of the Mass, words of remembrance were expressed by his daughter, Paula Drouin. Following the Mass, Deacon Jeffrey Lewis recited committal prayers at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. Military honors from the U.S. Army then played Taps and presented our country’s flag to his wife, Doris Drouin. The pallbearers were his stepgrandson, Nathan Pearl, his nephews, Kevin Rousseau and Philip Drouin, and his friends, Dan Escobar, Jason Ducharme and Michael Mailhot. All in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship at Marco’s Restaurant following the services at the cemetery. Arrangements by the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home in Lewiston.
