JAY — New classes at Spruce Mountain Adult and Community Education will start on Tuesday, Feb. 26. Don’t miss out on a chance to get yourself in shape, learn a new language, learn how to maintain your own computer or start your own garden. On Tuesday, Feb. 26, the following classes will start:

Getting Started with Spanish: A beginning level course that introduces the students to the basic concepts of the language while focusing on Spanish as a part of everyday life. This class will be offered at Spruce Mountain High School South Campus from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Class fee is $50.

Introduction to Ballet for Adults: Classical ballet for beginners. No experience needed. Learn the graceful movements, basic steps and low impact stretches. You will also learn a simple dance routine. Wear comfortable workout clothes. Ballet slippers required. This class is offered at Spruce Mountain Adult Education Center. From 6 to 7 p.m. Class fee is $75.

Computer Maintenance and Security: Learn from a professional. You can perform basic maintenance to keep your computer running smoothly. Learn about privacy online, as well as protecting yourself from ID theft. Recognize and avoid spyware, viruses and phishing scams. This will be held at Spruce Mountain Adult Education Center from 6 to 7 p.m. Class fee is $45.

Starting Seeds: This class will cover why to seed start, timing, lighting, what materials to use and choice of seeds to make sure you have healthy seedlings. This will be held at Spruce Mountain Middle School from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Class fee is $5.

Zumba: This class will combine exercises with high-energy cardio work and Latin-infused moves to create a calorie torching, strength training dance fitness party. Join this exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness, party that’s moving millions. This class will meet at Livermore Elementary Gym on Gibbs Mill Road from 4 to 5 p.m. Class fee is $60.

On Thursday, Feb. 28

Conversational French 1: If you are just starting to “Parlez Vous Francais” or are looking to refresh what you have previously learned in French, try this course. Class will be held at Spruce Mountain High School South Campus from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Class fee is $50.

On Friday, March 1

Computers for Seniors: Never used a computer? Are you a senior citizen? If the answer is yes, this class is for you. No skills are required. Learn basic computer skills, including the Internet and email over a six-week period. Class will be held at Spruce Mountain Adult Education Center from 9 to 11 a.m. Class fee is $55.

On Wednesday, March 6

Hypnosis For Non-Smoking: Using hypnosis, you can make a healthy change and become a non-smoker. The first session is designed for you to become a non-smoker and start to feel the benefits of living healthier. The second and third session are for reinforcing your new outlook so that you will be living the rest of your life as a non-smoker. This class will be held at 355 Main St., Wilton, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Class fee is $65.
