Auxiliary collecting books for sale

BRUNSWICK — The Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary will begin its collection of used books on Saturday, March 2, for the annual spring used book sale on April 4 and 5.

Books will be collected at the back door of the former Bookland at Cook’s Corner Mall from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday in March. The Auxiliary does not accept textbooks, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books or encyclopedias, because the books do not sell. Volunteers will be at Bookland on the March dates to accept and sort the books.

For pick-up of large quantities of books, call the MCH Volunteer Office at 373-6015.

The sale will be at the Mid Coast Hospital Café conference rooms from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 4 and 5. Proceeds benefit health career scholarships for southern mid coast Maine high school and college students and hospital projects.

Scholarship applications are due April 15 and are on the Mid Coast Hospital website at www.midcoasthealth.com/volunteer.
