DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Woman’s Hospital Association at Central Maine Medical Center is celebrating 125 years of service to the Lewiston-Auburn community. We are trying to find the descendants of the founding women of WHA, who were alive during the 1888-1894 period.

Mrs. Jonathan L.H. Cobb (Abigail Morrell), Mrs. George Haskell (Mary), Mrs. Nelson Howard (Emma Wood), Mrs. Charles O. Morrell (Julia A.), Mrs. Archie Lee Talbot (Nina Victoria Adams), Mrs. Mary Wakefield, Mrs. W.K. Oakes, Mrs. D.S. Waite, Mrs. A.D. Morton, Mrs. F.W. Dana, Mrs. D.B. Stevens, Miss Sarah Wakefield, Mrs. Lyman Prescott, Mrs. J.C. Bradford and Mrs Ara Cushman.

We have successfully traced Mrs. Wallace Humphrey White (Helen Frye).

If you are related to any of these people, please write to me at P.O. Box 1206, Auburn, ME 04211-1206 or email whahistory1888@gmail.com. Thank you. — June van Mourik

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have returned to Maine after being away for many years. I came across a clipping my father had about a class reunion from St. Rose de Lima and found that I am missing, so I am now back and glad someone is missing me (ha ha). I wonder if there are plans for another get-together? — Michael Langlais, hotelmikel@yahoo.com

ANSWER: Sun Spots does not know of one, but surely one of your classmates will email you an update.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I had good luck with my last request for information, so I thought I might try again. I’m looking for contact, information and photos of Everetts who went to and lived in the Freeport, Portland, Lewiston and Auburn area coming from Poland, Maine. Their ancestor would have been Elmer Everett.

I am also interested in the descendants of Frothingham who lived in South Paris during the 1800s. He was sheriff of Oxford County. — Ronald S Everett, ronseverett@yahoo.com

DEAR SUNS SPOTS: We are looking for members of the Lewiston High School Class of 1993. Our 20th class reunion is coming up July 27, and we would like to have as many members as possible attend.

If you want to join us or just catch up with old classmates, please join our Facebook page, Lewiston High School Class of 1993. Contact either Tricia St. Clair Bowdoin at 207-289-0785 or tricia@bowdoinexcavation.com or me so we can update your contact information. — Amy Gamache Nadeau, 207-229-6002, nadeaupac@gmail.com

DEAR SUN SPOTS: This year will mark the 25th anniversary of the Geiger-Montello partnership and the Montello “Night of the Stars” celebration. The 2013 “Oscars” will be held May 8 at Lewiston Middle School.

Through the years more than 1,200 children have been honored on stage for their writing prowess. This year we are looking to connect with any student who has been on stage during the last quarter century.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m a volunteer with Rebuilding Together Lewiston-Auburn and am wondering if you could help us with finding homes to renovate this year.

RTLA is a nonprofit organization supported entirely by contributions of time, labor, material and money. We are dedicated to repairing homes of those who, due to financial hardship, age and/or disability, cannot do the work themselves.

Skilled and unskilled volunteers alongside able-bodied members of the recipient’s family and friends complete the repairs at no cost to the homeowner.

The work is conducted on one weekend a year. This year that weekend is May 5.

RTLA will be accepting house applications until March 15. Applications can be found at River Cities Professional Center, 195 Center St., Auburn. Please see Rachel at the front desk or call her at 783-7300.

Volunteers are also needed. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Rachel as well. — Todd, RTLA volunteer
