1936 – 2013

AUBURN — Kathleen A. Parke, 76, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Hospice House of Androscoggin Home and Hospice, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Princeton, N.J., on March 4,1936, the daughter of Mable (Ouellette) and Gerard McKendry.

She attended Edward Little High School in Auburn, and graduated from Princeton High School, 1954, in New Jersey. She managed a softball team for the Auburn Recreation Department, as well as she was a Girl Scout leader for a junior troop for several years.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was involved in Cooperative Extension and held the position as treasurer.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Garrett W. Parke Sr., of Auburn; two daughters and two sons, Donna Parke of Rumford, Garrett W. Parke Jr. and his wife, Sally, of EI Paso, Texas, Steve Parke and his wife, Laurie, of Saco, and Maureen Bilodeau and her husband, Marc, of Poland; her younger sister, Patricia Rainey of Sabattus; five grandchildren, Jaime, Trey, Tiana, Eric and Meaghan; three great-grandchildren, Alajae, Caleb and Abigail; and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all family and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents, Mable and Gerard McKendry.
