LEWISTON — Kevin Lewis, CEO of Maine Community Health Options, recently announced that Ed Vozzo has joined the organization as chief financial officer.
MCHO is a not-for-profit organization that will provide affordable health insurance to Maine people and small businesses beginning in January 2014.
As CFO, Vozzo is a key member of the executive team and the senior financial executive of MCHO. He is responsible for developing and implementing corporate, financial, operational and fiscal policies and control procedures. His 13-plus years of experience in the financial and health insurance fields in new and established ventures — including a Fortune 500 company — make him well-suited to this new position.
Vozzo also has background in strategic prioritization, financial analysis, reporting and planning, as well as controller work and forecasting in both for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.
Vozzo graduated from United States Military Academy, West Point, and spent five years in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer. After leaving the service in 1997, he studied finance at the Yale School of Management. He has since worked in finance, strategy and accounting roles at ExxonMobil, UnitedHealth Group and The Hartford, as well as consulting and CFO roles in the non-profit insurance sector.
Vozzo and his family recently moved to Maine.
