1917 – 2013
WINTHROP — Arlene M. Peaco, 95, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, Feb. 21, at the Heritage Living Center, where she had resided for the past three years.
She was born in North Turner on Nov. 3, 1917, the daughter of Walter Mason and Florence (Keene) Mason. She attended Leavitt Institute in Turner. She married Carleton Ramsdell in 1936, and they had two sons. They were divorced in 1956.
Arlene worked as a housekeeper in Connecticut and as a nurses aide in Auburn. She married George Peaco in 1982, and they resided in Canton. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, bird watching and dances.
She is survived by her son, Carleton Ramsdell and his wife, Dorothy, of Auburn; three grandchildren, Darlene Ramsdell of Nashua, N.H., Dean Ramsdell of Biddeford and Scott Ramsdell of Lebanon; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Mason of Carthage; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, George Peaco; a son, Carson Ramsdell; sisters, Dorothy, Christine and Velma; and brothers, Carroll, Kennard, Frances (Bill) and George (Dick).
