Bethel Seniors meet March 13

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet Wednesday, March 13, at the Roosters Roadhouse in Mayville for their meeting and dinner.

Choice of dinner is Yankee pot roast or stuffed baked chicken. The cost is $11.75.

Church Women United to meet

PARIS — Church Women United will meet at 2 p.m. Friday, March 1, at First Congregational Church.

Clothing Center open March 2, 16

HARTFORD — The Hartford Clothing Center will be open on Saturday, March 2, and Saturday, March 16, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The Clothing Center is located directly across from the church.

Roast turkey dinner March 2

PARIS — A roast turkey dinner with all the fixings will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Deering Memorial Methodist Church, Main and Church streets.

The cost is $8 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and under. Apple crisp with ice cream will be the dessert.

Parking is available behind the library and Town Office.

Snowmobile raffle ride

ROXBURY — Roxbury Fire Relief will hold a snowmobile raffle ride Saturday, March 2.

Registration is from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Town Hall, 1095 Roxbury Road. Drawings will be at 1 p.m.

The cost is $5 per hand. A spaghetti lunch will be available for $5.

Texas hold ’em at Lions Club

HARRISON — The Harrison Lions Club will host a Texas hold’em tournament from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at the VFW Hall, 176 Waterford Road.

Entry fee is $55. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Space is limited to 100 players. Refreshments will be available. Proceeds will be used to provide community services.

Socrates Cafe gathering

WATERFORD — A Socrates Cafe gathering will be held at the Waterford Library from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 4. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month.

The group offers a forum to discuss current topics and ideas in a warm, friendly atmosphere, where divergent views will be welcome. Coffee and light refreshments will be served. The topic for the March meeting will be, “What Is Healthy Eating?” The moderator will be Ursula Duve.

Knitting Guild meets March 5

PARIS — The Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street.

A yarn swap that includes knitting books and magazines will follow the business session.
