1932 – 2013
LEWISTON — Doris M. Blais, 80, of Lewiston, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion.
She was born in Jay, Sept. 5, 1932, daughter of the late Albany and Madeline Richard Legere. She was educated in Jay schools, graduating from Jay High School.
She was married Sept. 4, 1954, to Bertrand A. Blais, who predeceased her Aug. 22, 1993. Doris will be remembered as a loving mother and a memere to all.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Family Church and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 106 Auxiliary. She was an avid bingo player, and she worked the bingo kitchen at the Knights of Columbus Council No. 106 and senior citizen bingo at Holy Family Parish for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Rachel Ouellette and husband, Maurice; three sons, Michael Blais and wife, Linda, Ronald Blais and wife, Holly, and Timothy Blais and fiancee, Danielle Renna; eight grandchildren, Robert Blais and wife, Samantha, Mark Blais and wife, Brittany, Matthew and Tyler Ouellette, Michelle, Madelyn, David and Ashley Blais; two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Audrey Blais; two sisters, Eva Davanport of Tennessee, and Julia Smith and husband, Maurice, of Jay; seven brothers, Leo Legere and wife, Norma, of South Carolina, Eddie Legere and wife, Terry, of Orono, Normand Legere of Jay, Louis Legere and wife, Patricia, of California, Richard Legere and wife, Doris, of Texas, Fidele Legere and wife, Patty, of Indiana and Daniel Legere and wife, Ruth, of Tennessee.
Doris was also predeceased by a son, David Blais, on June 11, 1988.
