DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am seeking a particular doctor in Lewiston who practices holistic medicine. I believe he was formerly an attorney. I think his first name is Steve, but I am not sure.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Can you find out why Dr. Paul Donahue’s picture is shown, but Dr. Keith Roach is answering the questions? Keep up the good work. Thanks. — No Name via email

ANSWER: As readers may know, Dr. Donohue recently retired. However, the templates for the newspaper’s pages are done in advance and still had his picture on them, meaning that someone must replace it. The employee who usually does that page was out ill, and the wrong picture showed up in the paper. It should not happen again.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Why can’t I get my paper over the Internet as early as I can get it delivered?

When I was getting the paper delivered I would get it by 4 am. Now I never get the paper before 5. Here it is 6:30 and no paper.

ANSWER: For readers unfamiliar with the website, Gerry is talking about the e-edition. This is a PDF (computer presentation) of the Sun Journal, which allows users to look at the pages as they appear in print. This means Internet readers have access to features such as the comics and crossword puzzle in addition to news and feature stories that appear on the part of the website that is open to the public.

The e-edition is a subscription, but costs less than the paper version ($6.95 for four weeks, with volume discounts available). You can also get the e-edition with your newspaper subscription for just a few pennies more.

As for Gerry’s problem with late delivery, Mike, the Sun Journal’s circulation director, looked into it and found that the company that processes and posts the e-edition was doing so on Central time, rather than Eastern. That should be fixed.

In the unlikely event that there are problems again, Gerry can keep himself busy by reading Sun Spots and other features and stories online. News stories are posted online throughout the day, which is the day preceding their print publication (for example, all day Monday for Tuesday morning).

Any stories that are not immediately posted to the website move to it at midnight, so even Gerry won’t be able to get up early enough to beat them!
