LEWISTON — Lillian L. Beaulieu, 96, of Lewiston, passed away at d’Youville Pavilion on Sunday, Feb. 24, with her family by her side.
She was born in Lewiston, March 18, 1916, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anilda (Roux) Lagasse. She attended local schools, graduating from L’ Ecole Superieure, Class of 1933.
On May 20, 1939, she married the love of her life, Robert Beaulieu. Together they worked and raised their young family in Lewiston. They were married for 50 years until Robert’s death in 1989.
Lillian worked for several years at Pepperell Mill Manufacturing, Leblanc Clothing and Heutz Oil before retiring in 1978. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Ladies of St. Anne and Lewiston Senior Citizens.
She was an avid card player who enjoyed traveling and never missed a chance to visit a casino. She was chosen “The Mother of the Year” in 2008 at Oak Park and absolutely loved her time spent with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Perry and husband, Wendall, of Pennsylvania; two sons, Raymond Beaulieu and his wife, Brenda, of Lisbon and Roland Beaulieu of Sabattus; eight grandchildren, Susan Turgeon and husband, Marc, Michael Gousse and his wife, Cheryl, Jeffrey Gousse and companion, Hanise Noor Assilla Craven, Kelly Bennett and companion, Carroll Smiley, Kevin Beaulieu and wife, Kelly, Thomas Beaulieu, Michael Beaulieu and Nicolas Beaulieu; nine great-grandchildren, Leah Turgeon, Joshua Turgeon, Kristen Gousse, Jaedyn Gousse, Ethan Gousse, Justin Desrosiers, Alex Bennett, Grayson Beaulieu and Daylon Beaulieu.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert; a son, Richard Beaulieu; and her sister, Cecile Poliquin.
