LEWISTON — Joseph G. Travaglini, 78, of Stevens Street, Lewiston, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Central Maine Medical Center due to cardiac complications.

He was born in Yonkers, N.Y., May 22, 1934, the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Rosto) Travaglini. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He met the former Glorianne Bilodeau while stationed in Brunswick and they were married on June 11, 1955, they were together for almost 58 years.

He was a loving father, and especially enjoyed being a grandfather. Joe worked for 32 years for Central Maine Power as a line supervisor prior to his retirement.

He enjoyed golfing at Fairlawn Golf Course, having coffee with his buddies and was a proud member of the Elks Club of Lewiston.

He is survived by his wife of Lewiston; two children, Gary and his wife, Donna Travaglini and Shari and her husband, Dan Lavoie; five grandchildren, Anthony and Joseph Travaglini, Renee and her husband, Josh Polgar, Danielle and Michael Lavoie; one great-granddaughter, Allison Polgar; one sister, Grace Ranellone; three brothers, Peter and

Marion Travaglini, Robert and Inez Travaglini and Ralph and Mary Grace Travaglini; numerous nieces and nephews; and in-laws, Roland and Mugette Boutin, Kenneth McAuliffe and Dolores Bilodeau.

He was predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Joseph Ranellone and Angelo Bilodeau; and a sister-in-law, Nola McAuliffe.

Joe will be remembered for his sense of humor and his special bond with his family and grandchildren and will be sorely missed by all.
