NORRIDGEWOCK — State Police responded to Norridgewock Elementary School early Monday after it was reported a man had a rifle near the building, but no such threat was discovered.
Department of Public Safety Spokesman Stephen McCausland said the school went into lockdown mode at 8:30 a.m. Monday, after the initial report came in to administrators.
McCausland said all students and staff are safe and accounted for, and three dozen troopers, sheriff’s deputies and game wardens responded to the school on Route 2.
No threat was found and police have notified parents, McCausland said. No other details were available.
