WEST PARIS — Myra Crosby, 86, a resident of Ledgeview Nursing Home for nearly five years, formerly of Congress Street, Rumford, died Friday, March 1.

She was born Sept. 27, 1926, in New Bedford, Mass., a daughter of John and Dorothy (Vinal) Ashworth. She received her education in New Bedford schools, graduating in 1944 from the New Bedford Vocational High School. A longtime resident of New Bedford, she was a nursery school teacher aide for the West End Day Nursery Inc. in New Bedford for 22 years.

She was a member of the Mexico Congregational Church and of the Rebekah Lodge and enjoyed being in the company of her family.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Ashworth of New Bedford, Mass., and Alice Ashworth of Peru (Worthley Pond); and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her three brothers, Raymond Ashworth of North Dighton, Mass., Richard Ashworth of Plymouth, Mass., and the Rev. Ronald Ashworth of Mexico.
