AUBURN — Police closed one southbound lane of Washington Street from the rotary to Roadman Road due to a traffic accident Wednesday.

The Auburn Police Department suggests the following alternate route:

• Minot Avenue to Poland Road
• Then to Rodman Road
• Then to Washington Street South.

The closure is expected to be lifted when utility crews replace a downed pole.
