During the past two weeks, my travel in Lewiston-Auburn has been from an igloo to Flamenco Vivo — and I never had to board an airplane. I have been to Washington’s Smithsonian “The Way We Work” exhibit at L/A Museum, and lunch across the canal at DaVinci’s.

Quite frankly, there were opportunities I missed because there is so much to do. I have to plan carefully to enjoy as much as I can in this burgeoning community.

I applaud the leaders of the community for their commitment to make L-A alive. There are many more events coming, from dance, to music, to theatre, to public forums, to library programs — the list goes on and on. There appears to be something for everyone’s tastes.

I have experienced a marvelous QiGong class at Lewiston Adult Education, and now the film festival will be on my calendar in which to participate and appreciate once again.

A friend in California recently visited and said he could not get over what is happening here. He hears about L-A from friends in Portland and beyond. He would like to purchase a home here so he can live part-time in a city that is glowing with enthusiasm.

What a wonderful commentary. My sincere thanks to all who have lead this Renaissance in this community.

Now, if the two communities can continue the cooperation that I am reading about regarding city government, I will be really pleased.
