SCARBOROUGH — Gregoire N. Lesperance, 84, of Old Orchard Beach and Clearwater, Fla., died peacefully surrounded by his family, March 10, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
He was born May 10, 1928, in Lewiston, the son of Arthur and Adelaide (Roy) Lesperance. He graduated from St. Dominic High School, Class of 1946. He served three years in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Berlin after World War II.
In 1951, Greg graduated from Bliss Business College in Lewiston. Prior to his retirement in 1988, he worked for Metropolitan Insurance as well as 25 years for the state of Maine Bureau of Taxation. Greg enjoyed shuffleboard, golf and family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jacqueline of Old Orchard Beach; one daughter, Judith Chabot and her husband, Bob, of Saco; three sons, Paul and wife, Louise, of Saco, Claude and partner, Tina Guerrette, of Lewiston and Marc and wife, Michelle, of Portland; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Marie Jeanne Lesperance of North Fort Myers, Fla., and Auburn; four brothers, Richard and wife, Mary, of Hudson, Fla., Gaston and wife, Ida, of Clearwater, Fla., and Augusta, Maurice and wife, Betty, of Richland, Wash., and Andre and wife, Barbara, of Holly Springs, N.C.
He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Colombe Boucher of Augusta and Carmen Scott of Waco, Texas; as well as his grandson, Justin Lesperance of Greene.
