FARMINGTON — A lot of jewelry, glass and vintage items are being set up for Saturday’s Antique and Collectible Sale at the Fairbanks School Meeting House on Route 4.
The Fairbanks School Neighborhood Association will hold the sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16 at the meeting house, 2.5 miles north of the center of Farmington.
Proceeds will help pay for finishing an addition used for storage at the meeting house.
“There’s an abundance of jewelry this year, some sterling silver and gold, some costume and vintage,” Cindy Kemble, organizer for the sale, said.
There’s also furniture, glass and vintage items.
“It’s something we’ve done for nearly 15 years,” Kemble said.
Kemble’s mother, Elena Barker, enjoys antiques and collectibles and suggested the group organize an annual show.
“People give us things, things they don’t want,” Kemble said.
After sorting the donations, the antiques and collectibles go into this annual sale. What’s left goes into a large yard sale held in June at the meeting house and sponsored by the association.
