LEWISTON — The Tim O’Dell/James Lyden Jazz Duo will set the jazz background for the Androscoggin Chamber’s Business After Hours from 5-7 p.m. March 31.

It will be held the Atrium Art Gallery at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College, 51 Westminster St. and be part of the college’s 25th anniversary celebration. A selection of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and door prizes add to the festivities.

Business After Hours is free and open to the public.

The Androscoggin Chamber, the largest in Maine, provides Business After Hours events to highlight its members and to encourage networking among a diverse membership group.

Tim O’Dell has performed professionally in a myriad of genres, from symphony orchestras and classical chamber ensembles to Cuban bands, urban funk bands and jazz bands in New York, Miami, Boston, Chicago, throughout the Midwest and greater New England. He currently teaches music at the University of Southern Maine.

A native of Portland, bassist Jim Lyden has been performing for more than 40 years. He has studied with both classical and jazz bassists, playing with blues, funk, rock, and jazz groups in venues in Northern New England. He currently performs with the Portland Jazz Orchestra.

The event marks the end of the gallery’s biennial exhibit of work by 78 artists in Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties. The exhibition includes paintings, prints, drawings, photographs, and works in clay, wood, fiber, metal and mixed media.

The Atrium Art Gallery is offering works in the exhibit for sale, with proceeds going to the artists and the Lewiston-Auburn College Scholarship Fund.
