ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Byron David France, 65, of Wathena, Kan., formerly of Lisbon Falls, died March 4, at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Syracuse, N.Y., July 27, 1947, the son of Martin France and Kathleen (McCrea) France. He was a lifetime member of the Slovak Catholic Association and a proud member of the NRA. He was an avid collector of antiques and took pride his many collections. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and most of all his beloved dog, Pugsley.

David joined the Navy in 1968 and spent his military career traveling the world, retiring in 1988. After retirement, he became an electrician.

He is survived by daughter, April Rollins and husband, David Rollins, of Lisbon Falls; son, Martin France of Waterloo, Iowa; four grandchildren, John Ferrazzi of Peru, Sara Ferrazzi of Lisbon Falls, Devon France of Des Moines, Iowa, and David France of Fort Dodge, Iowa; three stepgrandchildren, Chris, Dean and Jessica Rollins; sister, Sally and husband, Tom Carter, of North Carolina; sister, Peggy and husband, Bill Bishop, of Oklahoma; and eight nieces and nephews

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
