This is in response to the Sun Journal story that the RSU 16 budget stands at $19.3 million for coming year (March 12).

I am one of the three parents who attended the School Board meeting concerned about reinstating the music program to RSU 16, among other studies. I believe that there are solutions to the problem. Parents need to work together and speak up and fight against more cuts to the schools and the curriculum.

I am concerned over the loss of the music program and the continuing cuts to the curriculum in RSU 16. Solutions can be found for a better education for our children, rather than hurt families economically and result in negatively impacting children’s futures with present education.

I hope others will join me in saying stop the cutting of imperative funding to our school system.
