As it turns out, our readers are pretty creative when it comes to dreaming up new slogans.

Back on Feb. 1, Sun Journal Executive Editor Rex Rhoades asked readers to come up with a new slogan, something that could replace “LA: It’s Happening Here” — which local economic development leaders are now considering. Rhoades promised a prize for the winner, and we began taking responses.

And respond, you did. We received 151 suggestions from 49 readers. Most were from around Maine. One was from Michigan.

The slogans you suggested ranged from sincere to funny, snarky to sappy — and some frankly baffled us. In our humble opinion 11 rose to the top. 

Now it’s your turn.
