AUBURN — Mark G. Lapierre, 42, of Auburn passed away Thursday, March 14, at his home following a lifelong struggle with health issues.

He was born in Lewiston, Oct. 18, 1970, the son of Richard and Madeleine (Cyr) Lapierre. He attended local schools, graduating from Edward Little High School, Class of 1989.

He worked for years at Hunnewell Insulation and Portland Insulation until his illness made it impossible to continue. Mark was an avid fan of NASCAR and he enjoyed watching football, basketball and hockey.

He especially enjoyed watching his two nephews, “Chief” and “Boss” in their athletic events. He loved his time spent at The Range Pond Campground and cherished his time spent with his closest friends and their children.

Mark was a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, a superhero, a pioneer, an inspiration to all including everyone in the Blackfan Diamond Anemia family.

Mark is survived by his parents, Richard and Madeleine Lapierre of Auburn; his sister, Christine Cote and her husband, Chad, of Poland; two nephews, Nicholas and Joshua Cote of Poland; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and his very special friends.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Emile and Lucille Cyr, Leo and Florence Lapierre; and his very special dog, “Woody.”
