LITCHFIELD — Betty Mae Estabrook went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 17, at her home in Litchfield, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born to Percy G. Gowell and Mildred (Gatchell) Gowell, June 28, 1933, at Central Maine General in Lewiston. Betty Mae graduated from Litchfield Academy in 1951. She met the love of her life, Keith H. Estabrook in Litchfield and they married in Richmond on Nov. 25, 1953. Married for 59 years, they created a home full of love and a firm foundation of the teachings of Jesus for their children and grandchildren.
She was a wonderfully loving and caring person. She led a courageous battle against cancer — always facing her adversary with faith and love of her Lord. Love surrounded her everywhere, she was and she showed it fully to her husband, children and grandchildren. A devoted, full-time mother, she belonged to the Litchfield Congregational Church and was devoted to the Litchfield Youth Fellowship with her husband, Keith for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Keith H. Estabrook; two daughters and their husbands, Deborah and Guy Blanchette and Judith and Scott McPherson; four grandchildren, Christopher Mcpherson, Kate McPherson, Betsey McPherson and fiance, Michael Sherman and Amy and husband, Anthony Zeien; her brother and his wife, Clarence R. and Alma Gowell; as well as many other friends and extended family.
She was predeceased by her older brother and his wife, Robert G. and Lorraine Gowell; and her mother and father, Percy G. and Mildred Gowell.
