LIVERMORE FALLS — The Planning Board will get copies of draft ordinances pertaining to fireworks, property maintenance and flood plains prior to its meeting April 3.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Office.
The board also will consider a site plan review application for Northside Auto Towing and Recovery to set up an operation at 12 Cedar St. in Livermore Falls. There would also be a lot for vehicles impounded by police, Code Enforcement Officer James Butler Jr. said.
Butler also will bring forward an amendment to an original subdivision on Park Street, also known as Route 133. It was initially a subdivision with seven lots, he said. This would be an additional lot to the one owned by Leslie Tainter, Butler said. The lots would remain in the Tainter family.
The board will also review a draft of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Floodplain Management Ordinance for the town. It would replace the town’s current ordinance. The new ordinance complies with federal guidelines and the federal flood plain management rate map. If the town does not approve the ordinance, FEMA would drop the town from its program and that would make it more expensive and difficult for residents to get flood insurance, Butler said.
The ordinances will be reviewed at a public hearing before the annual town meeting vote in June.
Other ordinances the Planning Board has been working on at the direction of selectmen are a consumer fireworks ordinance and a property maintenance ordinance. The ordinances are expected to set guidelines for where consumer fireworks can be used in the town and how property should be maintained.
