TURNER — SAD 52 Adult & Community Education classes starting the week of March 25 include the following:
Chair Yoga: Designed for seniors and those with limited mobility, will focus on body/breath linked movements, performed with a chair. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle.
Ghosthunting 101: Instructors from Central Maine Paranormal Investigations will teach the basics of paranormal research and investigation. In-the-field training is included.
Fly Tying Basics: A new class on the material and equipment used for tying a useful fishing fly. Become proficient in fly tying “language.” get useful tips on what and why fish eat and where to fish.
ATV Safety: Participation in the state ATV education course will teach how to operate and maintain an ATV. Passage of a final exam is required and participants must attend both classes in order to receive certificate. Students must be at least 10 years old and, if under 15, must be accompanied by an adult.
Intro to Hatha Yoga Session 2: Explore the fundamental techniques of yoga in a slow-paced stretching class with simple breathing exercises. Bring two blankets, water and a mat. Avoid eating an hour before class.
Dollars & Sense: Get a budget overhaul for tough times. Learn the basic components for building a budget, including money tracking, ways to save and cut back, and short-term financial goal setting.
Hatha Yoga Session 2: Regain mind and body awareness in a gentle, basic class. Prior experience is not necessary. Bring a blanket, water and a yoga mat. Avoid eating an hour before class. Props will be provided.
