The Goose Eye Farm, home to Bruce, Suzanne, Hannah and Reece Pierce, hosted the year-end event of the Bethel Outing Club’s Bill Koch Kids Cross Country Ski League on St. Patrick’s Day. About 20 parents and kids participated in a scavenger hunt on skis to find letters hidden in containers throughout the cross country trails. When the letters were collected and unscrambled, they spelled “Pot of Gold” and everyone was treated to a piece of cake topped with green maple frosting. They returned to the sap house for a sample of maple syrup and an explanation of how it is made.
