Author to speak at college
AUBURN — Maine historian and author Annette Vance Dorey will discuss her book, “Maine Mothers Who Murdered 1875-1925: Doing Time in State Prison,” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Central Maine Community College. Dorey researched the untold stories of more than 30 mothers and their murder trials from 1875 to 1925. Dorey will speak in the Kirk Hall auditorium. The public is invited.
Names still being accepted for monument
LEWISTON — Monument 25 will be unveiled on May 25 at Veterans Memorial Park.
Names are still being accepted for inclusion on the stone. Requirements include military discharge papers and being a Maine native.
Those who want their names on the monument, which is in the process of being completed, should call L & A Veterans Council Director Joseph Paradis at 786-0488 for information.
