1947 – 2013

LEWISTON — Reynold Long, 66, of Lewiston, unexpectedly passed away Monday at his home. 

He was born in Fort Kent, on Jan. 5, 1947, a son of the late Hector and Elizabeth (Charette) Long.

At the age of 12, he moved from Fort Kent to Lewiston and attended area schools. After school, Reynold worked in Lewiston as a laborer for various businesses, including Bates Mill and Country Kitchen. He was last employed at White Rock Distilleries. He will be remembered for his love of playing guitar and listening to country and country-rock music.

He is survived by his two sons, Michael Long and his wife, Ronda, of South Thomaston and Darren Long and his wife, Renee, of Waldoboro; three sisters, Theresa Nadeau and her husband, Norman, of Augusta, Jacqueline Thibeault and her husband, Joseph Charette, of Fort Kent, Jeannine Grimmel and husband, Robert, of Lewiston; brothers, Roland Long of Lewiston and Lewellyn Long and his wife, Anita of Lewiston. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews; as well as his dear and special friend, Irene Guilmette. 

He was predeceased by his loving companion of 18 years, Evelyn W. Baker; a sister, Joan Deschaine; a brother, Melvin; and a granddaughter, Rachel Michelle.
