FARMINGTON — Franklin County Justice Michaela Murphy ordered a New Sharon man’s cases to be transferred to a Kennebec County court in Augusta on Friday because some of the incidents occurred in 12th District Court.

Ronald Begin, 53, is currently being held without bail for violating bail conditions related to him being arrested on Feb. 7 at District Court. Those charges pertain to being disorderly in court and shoving a state trooper. Begin was wrestled to the ground in a conference room as a state trooper tried to arrest him.

According to police, Begin had been warned to stop being disorderly several times in the courtroom and in the conference room

The situation escalated while Assistant District Attorney Josh Robbins and state Trooper Aaron Turcotte were going over evidence in a conference room with Begin from a July 20, 2012, arrest. Those charges are in connection with misdemeanor criminal trespass and driving to endanger.

Begin denied violating his bail conditions on the Feb. 7 charges after he was arrested March 1 on a felony charge of aggravated domestic violence assault.

Begin is accused of striking a woman on the head with a loaded pistol at a Mile Hill Road residence in New Sharon. The woman was injured, a state prosecutor previously told the court.

Begin’s bail on the domestic charge was set at $25,000 cash.
