PARIS — Four of five selectmen signed a resolution Monday calling for the state Legislature to reject Gov. Paul LePage’s proposed biennial budget.
Only Ryan Lorrain declined to sign the document, which calls for legislators to “identify less harmful cost savings, and raise revenue in an equitable fashion to avoid this added revenue burden on the town.”
LePage’s proposal would eliminate $283 million in revenue sharing statewide, and according to the resolution would shift $454,760 in costs to the town of Paris, which is already undergoing budget woes.
