One person was flown to the hospital with injuries after a tractor-trailer struck a car broadside in front of Walmart on Saturday night. The crash happened on Route 26 around 6:30. Few details were available late Saturday night. “It appears the car was turning into Walmart and the tractor-trailer was traveling south,” Oxford fire Lt. Steve Cordwell said. Firefighters removed the car’s roof and door to free a male occupant pinned in the back seat. He was taken away by a LifeFlight medical helicopter. The extent of his injuries wasn’t known. Cordwell said either two or three people were in the car. The truck driver was not hurt. The crash was being reconstructed by Maine State Police. — Kathryn Skelton
