AUBURN — Anita L. Surette, 69, of Auburn, died Saturday, March 30, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, with her loving family at her side, after a seven-year battle with breast cancer.
She was born May 31, 1943, in Bath, a daughter of the late Beatrice Avery and William Flewelling. She was a graduate of Gardiner High School and Bernard’s Beauty School. Anita was previously employed at Hammond Tractor in Auburn, Original Pizza in Auburn and was a hairdresser for Jean Paul’s Beauty Shop.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Lewiston. Anita had many crafting talents and enjoyed dancing and karaoke. Anita cherished her special times with her children and her grandchildren. She always met a new friend and she had a special place in her heart for everyone. Anita was a very spiritual person and had a special message for each of her children before she passed. Heaven has received a precious angel whom will be watching over us.
She is survived by a brother, John Flewelling and wife, Marcia, of Indiana; stepmother, Marie Flewelling of Calais; children, Michael Linton of Auburn, Michelle White and husband, Dale, of Lewiston, Rayna Estes of Florida, and Kristie Jalbert and husband, David, of Greene; grandchildren, Nathan White of Lewiston, Aaron Estes of Florida, Dylan Jalbert of Greene, Shianne Estes of Florida, Taylor Jalbert of Greene and Ashlyn Jalbert of Greene; her companion, Roger Naous and his two boys, Sammy and Danny; godmother, Christine Sirois; ex-husband and friend, Edgar Surette Jr. and his two children, David and Nancy; nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins; and many special friends.
