LISBON — The town will host its first Spring Cleanup Day on April 6, with scores of volunteers scouring the town.

The cleanup day, which is expected to become an annual event, is being sponsored by Positive Change Lisbon and the Lisbon Public Works Department.

Public Works staff and more than 80 volunteers from a variety of companies, civic groups and churches will spend the day cleaning areas in town.

In addition, Positive Change Lisbon is expected to unveil new banners on light poles in the week or two immediately following the cleanup.

The event will kick off at 9:30 a.m. at the Lisbon High School sign and run most of the day.

The public is invited to join in, according to Ross Cunningham, president of Positive Change Lisbon. He encourages volunteers to bring rakes, push brooms and gloves.
