Catholics have elected a new pope: Francis. He is to be the pope of the poor, elderly and disabled.
The Vatican, as has been shown on television, is rich with artificial monuments, artwork and prime real estate properties. If Pope Francis is genuine, he should start a huge Vatican sale. With the money, he should order many of the clergy who are roaming about the Vatican to go wherever the poor are living, making sure that the poor receive the food being allotted them.
We know that the pope will not change church dogma regarding birth control, the ordination of women, or being Christ-like toward the gay community. He chose to be the champion of the poor.
Hopefully, he will take action — not just pray for those poor individuals — because prayers, especially for peace on Earth, have not worked yet.
