BETHEL — Five people have taken out papers for six municipal offices in the June town elections.

Selectmen Stanley Howe and Donald Bennett are seeking re-election to three-year terms and have returned their papers, Town Clerk Christen Mason said Friday afternoon.

Howe has also returned papers for another three-year term on the Board of Assessors, as has incumbent David Luxton.

For two three-year seats on the SAD 44 board, incumbent Elaine Cross and former board member Carol Everett have taken out papers. Incumbent Lynn Arizzi has not.

The deadline for returning papers is April 29.

Currently, there are no contested races.

Mason said residents at the June 11 polls also will have to vote on a referendum about the proposed Bethel Dog Park. The text of that question, however, has yet to be written.
