WALDOBORO — Robert G. Soper, 43, went to be with Our Lord on March 31, and into the loving arms of his parents, Harold Sr. and Flora Soper.

Robert was born July 6, 1969, and raised in Lewiston, where he attended Lewiston High School. After high school, Robert worked with his father, Harold Sr. in the construction field, learning valuable tools of the trade that he later used to start his own business (Hometec) in the town of Waldoboro. Once there, he built his home and started his family. Robert married Heather Sukeforth in 1995.

Robert loved to be outside, loved hunting and fishing, but his favorite thing to do was coach his boys’ teams, whatever the sport was. He loved to help and make a difference in their lives, teaching not only the sport, but also building confidence and team spirit.

Robert loved spending time with his family, fishing and camping with his sister, Susan and brother-in-law, Steve. They will never forget their many yearly camping trips and he will always be in their hearts.

Robert will be sadly missed by all who had the good fortune to have met him.

Survivors include his wife, Heather Soper; children, Kelsey Court and husband, Kevin, of Waldoboro, Brandon Soper, 18, of Waldoboro and Channing Soper, 13 of Waldoboro; brothers, Bruce Soper of Auburn, Harold Soper Jr. of Lewiston and Donald Soper of Auburn; sisters, Clarissa Collins of Auburn, Susan Bowden and husband, Steven, of Lewiston and Linda Levesque and husband, Bob, of Poland; grandchildren, Alyse and Aubrey Court of Waldoboro; many nieces and nephews; in-laws, Phillip and Sandra Sukeforth; and lifelong best friends, Dana Pride of Sabattus and Scott Metayer of Virginia.
