To facilitate this expansion of Art Walk venues, L/A Arts has waived the usual $50 venue fee required to participate in Art Walk events.

Also in the works is the extension of gallery exhibits connected to Art Walk. Initially, Art Walk Lewiston Auburn was a 24-hour celebration of the talent in our local community and beyond. Now artists will have greater exposure with exhibits remaining on display for two to five weeks.

Keeping with tradition, L/A Arts will still feature live musical performances and numerous other arts-centered activities during Art Walk events such as the annual Dine en Blanc and a summer block party.

Art Walk Lewiston Auburn 2013 dates are May 31, June 28, July 26, August 30 and September 27. A list of venues will be available at www.artwalklewistonauburn.com. The site is currently under maintenance, modifying the submission process to be more user friendly.

CALLING ALL ARTISTS

L/A Arts is calling artists to submit for Art Walk Lewiston Auburn 2013. Visit www.artwalklewistonauburn.com and follow the submission guidelines. Deadline for the May 31 Art Walk is May 10.

L/A Arts is currently accepting requests to reserve gallery space for the June, July, August and September Art Walk events by email via art@artwalklewistonauburn.com. In the subject line list your full name and the month you wish to exhibit (i.e. John Doe July Art Walk). In the body of your email, include your phone number, estimated number of works to be presented, and two jpeg images of your work.

All media will be considered for display including photography, paintings, sculpture and jewelry. We are seeking ideas for site-specific installation art in window fronts and office spaces. Artwork on display may be for sale to the public. L/A Arts is the only point of contact for all art sales related to Art Walk Lewiston Auburn displays (unless presented through an independent Art Walk venue). Art Walk Lewiston Auburn receives a 20 percent commission on all artwork sold during the display process. To facilitate more submissions from local artists, L/A Arts is eliminating the $10 artist submission fee.
