The Walmart State Giving Program recently contributed nearly $25,000 toward the purchase of new fitness equipment at Central Maine Medical Center’s Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Center. The center serves about 50 people a day who are living with cardiovascular and/or lung disease. The Walmart grant allows the center to replace fitness equipment that is more than nine years old to better serve those patients, according to center officials. Among those on hand recently to recognize Walmart’s support of CMMC were, from left: Walmart Market Manager David Murray; Nicola Adams, R.N. (formerly with the center); Monica Dawe, exercise physiologist; Auburn Walmart Manager Andy Pepin; Sarah Shink, Wal-Mart market assistant; and CMMC President Laird Covey.
