LEWISTON — The University of Southern Maine’s Franco-American Collection is sponsoring a French sing-along session at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, in the chapel of St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion, 102 Campus Ave. The event is free; no tickets or reservations are necessary, but donations are welcomed.

The session will consist of one hour of traditional French and French-Canadian songs. Words to all the songs are provided, so even those whose French is only “assez bien” are welcome. The music and friendly atmosphere are maintained by an enthusiastic and talented group of community singers and musicians.

The Franco-American Collection preserves and promotes Maine’s Franco-American history and heritage through its archive at USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College and activities in the community.

For information on the event, contact 753-6545 or [email protected]. For directions and information on the venue, contact the d’Youville Pavilion at 777-8100.
