NORWAY — Frances F. Grant, 89, of Stoneham passed away peacefully on April 14.

Frances was born in East Stoneham, July 27, 1923, to John and Ethel Files. She attended Stoneham schools and was a graduate of Norway High School. She was happily married to Robert Grant from 1961 until his death in 1993.

Frances was brought up on the farm in East Stoneham and worked in the Norway Shoe Shop for 25 years. She also worked at the Grover Mill clipping dowels while caring for her mother in the 1980s.

Frances took over the Files farm and took care of her beloved cows, cats and other animals. She had a vegetable and flower garden which always was a pleasure for her. She was a loving aunt and great-aunt. She was an active member of the Daughters of Union Veterans.

She is survived by a special sister-in-law, Shirley Grant; cousins, Wilma Taylor and Herbert Adams; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Doris Files and Eleanor Nelson; and her brothers, Donald Files and John Files Jr.

She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
