DRYDEN — Fred W. Quirrion Jr., 74, of Dryden, died early evening Saturday, April 13,  at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Nov. 5, 1939, in Livermore Falls, a son of Fred W. and Bertha M. (Grose) Quirrion Sr. He attended local schools, graduating from Wilton Academy.

Fred was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1962 to 1965. He was employed at International Paper Co. in Jay for more than 30 years, retiring in the late 1980s.

Fred loved the outdoors. In his leisure, one could find him either, hunting, fishing, camping or tending to his vegetable garden.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Kay Lovejoy of Dryden; daughters, Michelle and Renae Quirrion, both of Bangor; stepchildren, Pat Lovejoy of Phillips, Stephanie Lovejoy of Arkansas, Susan Lovejoy, Leslie Wallace and T.J. Wallace, all of Wilton; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Virginia Holland, George Quirrion and Earl Quirrion; and stepson, Brett Lovejoy.
