Oxford Historical Society meeting

OXFORD — The Oxford Historical Society will hold their first meeting of the year at 6 p.m. Friday, April 26, at the museum on Pleasant Street.

The program will be given by Ken and Gene Record on their trip to Alaska.

Dues will be taken for the new year. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

Annual sale aids Smile Fund

BETHEL — West Parish Congregational Church, UCC, will hold their annual sale from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, in the church basement, 32 Church St.

Proceeds will benefit the Smile Fund, which aids those who are in need of restorative dental work and lack the financial resources to undertake the expensive treatment.

Sale items include toys, books, household items and plants, both flowers and vegetables.

Finnish Cemetery Assoc. meeting

WEST PARIS — The Finnish Cemetery Association meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at the Mission Congregational Church, Church Street.

Reports will be given and election of officers held. Anyone having connections with the cemetery is urged to attend. New members are invited to join the association.

Destination Imagination team

HEBRON — Hebron Station Elementary School’s Team Vroom won first place at Destination Imagination’s “In The Zone” competition on April 6 at UMO.

Six third-graders and one second-grader make up the team. Dave Dunn and Elizabeth Dunn are the coaches.

The team will advance to the four-day global tournament held in May at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. D.I. is a problem solving organization that encourages kids of all ages to seek information, research, create and collaborate. The kids have to do all the work themselves.

Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Friday in the Rec. Building. Finishing first in flight A were Milt MvKeen Jr., Bridgton, and Jim Krainin, Naples, who also were first in flights B and C.

Second in flight A were Elaine Dresser, Bethel, and Dick Penley, West Paris, who also were second in flights B and C. Third in flight A were Hazel Glazier, Norway, and Marta Clements, Woodstock, who were also second in flight B.

Fourth in flight A were Peter Cummings, South Paris, and Mike True, Auburn. Finishing third in flight C were Carol Curran, Waterford, and Barbara Vanderzanden, Lovell. Fourth in flight C were Linda Smith, Poland, and Jack Neal, Poland.

Lewiston Bridge Club winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners on April 16 at the Lewiston Armory were as follows: first, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; second, Nancy Lindgren and Les Buzzell; third, Hazel Glazier and Pete Cummings; fourth, Claire Lyons and Luke Merry.

First in B, Hazel Glazier and Pete Cummings; second, Kay Bagwell and Patrick Melvin; third, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr.

First in C, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr; second, Sue Kaluzynski and Donna Bartlett.
