If only one of the accusations made by Sharon Leahy-Lind against superiors at the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention is true, action needs to be made immediately.

People are supposed to be professional, no matter what position they’re holding, whether it be manager of a burger joint or head of a government or corporate entity.

The basketball coach of Rutgers just got fired for his unprofessional behavior. In recent years, commanding officers of ships of the U.S. Navy have been booted from the Navy for bullying behavior.

There should be no severance or pensions paid to bullies in any government or corporate entity.

I thought bullying was being outlawed. Even the First Lady has taken a stand against this type of behavior.

People who participate in this type of behavior are not usually recent hires, but people who have been in one position for years and have gotten used to getting their way, as in the old adage of Lord Acton: “Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

Many years of military service, combined with employment with a subcontractor of DHHS and other jobs, have proven the above adage for me.

You can either just take it or stand up to it and suffer the repercussions.

The investigation by the AG’s Office at DHHS should be swift and, if the accusations are proven true, action needs to be taken quickly to get bullies out of state government.

There is no immunity for stupidity.
