LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing will offer a free household products workshop for anyone interested in learning more about making better choices. Household Products and Our Health: Consumer Choices and Policy Decisions will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at the Dempsey Center, 29 Lowell St.

Science is increasingly showing that many health problems are caused or aggravated by dangerous chemicals contained in products that we use every day. Emma Halas-O’Connor, Grassroots Organizer at the Environmental Health Strategy Center, invites you to learn things you can do to keep yourself and your family as healthy as possible, and get involved in the campaign for safer products.

The Environmental Health Strategy Center, which works to build broad-based support for policies promoting safer chemicals in a more sustainable economy, will lead this workshop joined by a mother who is well-versed in avoiding toxic chemicals in products; and a Maine legislator to provide updates on policies to get cancer-related chemicals out of our products.

Pre-registration is available by calling the Dempsey Center at 207-795-8250, toll-free 1-877-336-7287 or online at www.dempseycenter.org.
