JAY — On April 10 the Daughters of Isabella Circle 677 from St. Rose of Lima held their April business meeting.

The recitation of the Rosary was led by Chancellor Lauriann Castonguay, who also read the opening prayer. Draping of the Charter was held for deceased sister Catherine Larochelle.

Regent Rodzen then asked Marianne Allen to fill in for Beatrice Moreau, Olive Couture sat in for Laurie Gagnepain and Rita Crowley sat in for Dobie Nickless. Rodzen read a prayer for Larochelle, followed by the Pledge to the flag.

Recording secretary Jackie Castonguay read the roll call. Castonguay read thank-you cards received from Tri-Town Ministry, Pauline Brochu, Rosemary Poulsen and a letter received from The American Legion. Morgan said that she sent a sympathy card to the family of Catherine Larochelle. Scribe Kim Couture reported what she had sent to the local newspapers. Couture also thanked Amy Ouellette-Newman for the help she gave with the circle’s scrapbook.

The yard sale plans were discussed. It was voted to sell hot dogs and homemade soup at the yard sale. Fern Doiron, Gina Labbe, Dot Morgan and Laurianne Castonguay volunteered to make soup and to work in the kitchen the day of the sale. Gina was voted to be in charge of the kitchen on that day.

The Daughters discussed plans to help with a Mass on April 14.

No new membership was reported. Fern Doiron spoke about the theme baskets; anyone who has not yet signed up for a basket is asked to call Fern with the theme that they would like to do.
