LIVERMORE FALLS — There will be a Memorial Day Committee meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at the George Bunten Post 10 at 17 Reynolds Ave.

All in the area are invited to attend to help plan the May 27 parade and more, according to Diane Getz, treasurer and Donald Simoneau, past chairman.

Organizers of the meeting are hoping people from area towns, selectmen and representatives of fire, police, schools, church groups, Scouts, ATV clubs and veterans from this area will go to the planning meeting.

Discussions will include planning the purchase and placement of the more than 1,600 grave flags on area veterans’ graves in the more than 46 local cemeteries.

It will also be an opportunity to discuss the parade marshal for this year’s parade and to discuss the lineup. There will also be discussion on finding insurance to cover the parade and participants. They will also plan the honors program before and after the parade at local veterans’ monuments in Fayette, Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls.

Anyone who needs more information may contact Diane Getz at 320-0103.
